What Is The Dubliner Cocktail?
This cocktail combines Irish whiskey, juice, and liqueur to create a balanced and flavorful adult beverage that is a wonderful accompaniment to St. Patrick’s Day festivities. The sweet white cranberry-peach juice softens the sharpness of the whiskey, and the sour apple schnapps adds an opposing sour element that lends depth of flavor to every sip.

Can I Make Substitutions?
Of course!
Irish whiskey is preferred in this cocktail due to the light, fruity notes and smooth, light taste. However, you can substitute other whiskeys, but this will affect the taste of the cocktail, depending upon what you use. Bourbon has the most similar flavor profile to Irish whiskey, but isn’t quite as smooth. Scotch whiskey tends to have a smokier, heavier flavor, while rye whiskey is spicier and peppery.
Sour apple schnapps introduces an element of sour to the cocktail. But if sour apple isn’t your thing, consider changing the flavor profile by swinging to the sweet side. Midori is a sweet melon liqueur in a bright green hue that transforms this cocktail into one that embraces the fresh flavors of springtime.
White cranberry-peach juice brings sweet and tart together in a beautiful medley with the other ingredients, The original recipe called for plain white cranberry juice, which allows the green color of the sour apple schnapps to shine through. But it was impossible to find in my area, so I chose white-cranberry peach for the flavor. I love the addition of the peach, and even though it doesn’t showcase the green schnapps, I think it’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!
