What is Prime Day?
Prime Day is now a 2-day bonanza of savings for members of Amazon Prime. This happens once each year, typically around Amazon’s birthday on July 15. During this time, thousands of items are discounted for Amazon Prime members, with discounts ranging from 5% to 50% and even more on selected items.
The Prime Day savings began on June 21, with some amazing early deals, but the bulk of the savings occurs on July 12 and 13 this year. Some items are discounted for the entirety of Prime Days (or until supplies are depleted), while other items are discounted for only a few hours.
Clicking the Prime Day banner on your Amazon home screen will bring you to the Prime Day page. Items close to the top of the page are typically on sale throughout the two day event, while those a bit further on the page are limited time deals. These entries have timers ticking down the minutes that you have to make your purchase at the sale price.

Our List of Kitchen-Related Deals
We’ve been perusing all the fun kitchen and cooking-related items and have managed to narrow them down to our ten must-have items! Check them out and comment below if you’ve got any of these.
DASH Deluxe Rapid Egg Cooker, $23,49 (originally $29.99)
OK, we’ve actually got one of these already. But we love it so much we know you’d love it, too!
We bought this egg cooker to make hard boiled eggs at Easter time that would be easier to peel. (Sidebar, YES! Eggs that are hard boiled in this machine are SO easy to peel!) But what I didn’t know is that you can use this machine to do more than boil eggs!
I like making a quick omelet in the mornings, and making one in here is easy and much less messy than using a pan. I’ve also used it to make poached eggs and want to try making soft boiled eggs, too. I have heard that some people also use this egg cooker to steam veggies, but I haven’t tried that…yet!
Amazon Basics 6-Quart Enameled Cast Iron Covered Dutch Oven, $32.36 (originally $52.94)
If you’re a soup lover, you’re going to love this cast iron Dutch oven! I love cooking with cast iron because of its ability to retain heat, and this little beauty really caught my eye.
This gorgeous pot comes with a tight-fitting lid and sports two handles for easy lifting (just remember to use pot holders because it gets HOT). Please note: the beautiful red enamel is the only color that is available with this Prime Day deal.
Zulay Double Whisk Milk Frother, $11.99 (originally $19.99)
I start every day with a cup of collagen-enhanced coffee, and let me tell you I would love to give it a fancy topping of frothed milk! I was excited to come across this Prime Deal at 40% off the original price so I can make matcha lattes, frappes, and cappuccinos at home. I’m also looking forward to blending my keto bulletproof coffee with it. For such a low price, how can I possibly pass it up?
Calphalon 11-in-1 Toaster Oven Air Fryer Combo, $188.99 (originally $299.99)
I was admittedly late to the air fryer game, having just obtained my first air fryer about a year ago. I didn’t want to buy another appliance that would sit on the shelf and gather dust (I’m eyeing you, Instant Pot), so I started with a small one. I ended up loving how crispy reheated pizza and fries become and am eager to move onto cooking foods in an air fryer, but mine is too small for that.
Enter this lovely Calphalon air fryer combo! It air fries, it toasts, it broils, it bakes, and it defrosts. According to the ad, it is wide and deep enough to bake a 12″ pizza, so my teens will be thrilled. And with all the functions it possesses, I’ll be busy in the kitchen creating new recipes with it. I can’t wait for it to arrive!
Hamilton Beach Dual Breakfast Sandwich Maker, $32.89 (originally $46.99)
My kids love breakfast sandwiches in the morning, especially during the schoolyear. But the frozen kind only have four in a box, so I end up buying tons of them and they take up too much room in my freezer.
This sandwich maker allows you to make a variety of breakfast sandwiches using whatever combination of ingredients you’d like. Egg and cheese on an English muffin? Done. Nutella and fruit between two waffles? Yes, please. Thinly sliced ham and cheddar on a warm croissant? Of course!
While I may not use this as much as the kids do, I am itching to try making a keto breakfast sandwich of eggs, avocado, and bacon between two sausage patties. However, I took a peek at Hamilton Beach’s digital recipe book and I have to say that I’d love to sample almost every one!
Amazon Basics Silicone Baking Mat Set, $7.64 (originally $14.09)
It’s a basic fact of cooking that if you don’t want food to stick to the pan, you have to do something to prevent it. Sprays work wonderfully, but they are often hard to clean off and leave a sticky residue. Parchment paper does a nice job, but I have had foods soak through, making a mess.
These baking mats, in three different sizes, are perfect for lining baking pans. Just lay the mat on the baking pan and place the food on top. Bake as you usually would, then just wash the mat with soap and water. You can use them again and again. And at this price, you can order multiple sets for cookie baking season!
Cuisinart Vertical Propane Smoker, $144.70 (originally $234.99)
This vertically aligned smoker is a space saving model that offers plenty of room inside (5.45 square feet) for foods. Four removable shelves allow for multiple cuts of meat or trays of vegetables to be smoked at the same time. The shelves are dishwasher safe to make cleaning up easy, too. Nothing beats the taste of slow-smoked meat, and this smoker makes it so easy to make!
A 40 foot hose and regulator connect to a standard-sized, 20 lb propane tank (tank not included). Wood chips and water are held in a porcelain steel tray beneath the unit. Wood chips are also available on Amazon, as is a cover designed to keep the smoker protected against the elements.
O-Cedar Easy Wring Microfiber Spin Mop, $45.89 (originally $59.97)
Have you seen the bright, shiny floors that Tik Tokkers have discovered with the Spin Mop? This swivelly, easy-wring mop has been used on floors, walls, ceilings, dog kennels, freezer interiors, and even garages with much success.
Cleaning is never fun, but having the tools that make it a whole lot easier are always welcomed in this house! The ease is twofold. The first part is in the unique, swiveling head of the mop. The tri-corner design allows you to get into dusty corners and other nooks easily.
The second feature that makes this mop easier than any other is the bucket system. Instead of a wringer, this system utilizes a spinning mechanism that spins the water from the mophead. It is powered with a foot pedal, so there’s no batteries to replace or cords to plug in. I am looking forward to discovering the ease of cleaning with Spin Mop.
Amazon Explore Virtual Classes, 60% off on Prime Day only
Have you heard of Amazon Explore?
Most people haven’t, but I consider it to be a hidden gem on Amazon! Amazon Explore is described as virtual experiences that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home. So what is considered an experience?
There are seven categories of experiences: personal shopping, food and drink, culture and landmarks, learning and creativity, wellness and beauty, events and entertainment, and nature and outdoors. Experiences differ according to the category you choose. You may link up with a personal shopper in Paris to go clothes shopping in boutiques on the Parisian streets. Or, you may choose to learn how to make sushi from an Itamae in Japan. If animals are your thing, you may want to take a virtual tour of a nature preserve in real time with scientists or ecologists.
You can choose to book a 1:1 session with your expert, or choose to be part of a small group session for a lower fee. If materials are needed ahead of time (such as in cooking classes or wine tastings), a list is provided before booking. These sessions do need to be booked ahead of time, as schedules must be coordinated between yourself and your online guide.
The costs of sessions varies depending upon the experience. I have seen sessions for as little as $5 and as much as $60. For Prime Day, all experiences are 60% off, whether private or group session. When you look at the price online, the regular price will be shown. The 60% discount will be added at checkout.
I can’t recommend this little corner of Amazon enough. If you haven’t heard of Amazon Explore, go and check it out. There are so many unique experiences there, and they’re always changing.
30 Piece Porcelain Dinnerware Set, $49.99 (originally $79.99)
This white 30 piece set of dinner dishes from Gibson Home is blessedly basic. Simple lines and curves pair with any decor, from contemporary to country. The generous cup handles make holding coffee a warm and cozy experience, as do the salad bowls that fit snugly in two hands.
This set is a table service for six. It comes with six each of dinner plates, dessert plates, bowls, salad bowls, and coffee cups. If you’ve been looking for a set that makes your food look beautiful on the plate, be sure to grab this one before they’re sold out!
How Long Are Prime Day Deals Good For?
You have to hurry! These and all Prime Day deals will only be around until midnight on July 13.
